Large Contracts for Flexible Pipes Supply

Technip has signed two substantial contracts for the provision of flexible pipes for the Egina field operated by Total Upstream Nigeria Ltd, offshoreNigeria.

The two contracts consist of the qualification and supply of 12 dynamic flexible jumpers from 3.5″ to 12.5″ which is applicable to oil production, gas lift, water injection and gas export, for the connection of the single top tension risers(3) to the floating production storage and offloading unit (FPSO), with two20.5”unbonded flexible pipes as oil offloading lines (OOL) connecting the FPSO to the offloading buoy and related ancillary equipment. FlexiFrance, Technip’s facility in Le Trait, will produce the flexible pipes that are expected to be finished in the year of 2015 for the jumpers and in the year of 2016 for the oil offloading lines.

The vice president of Technip, Manufacturing, Jean-François Niel, said that the two contracts comprise of complex dynamic applications and include the largest flexible pipes Technip had ever manufactured, complying with their position as a leader manufacturer for supplying flexible pipes of high specification and large diameter.

A subsidiary company of Technip, DUCO, also signed a significant contract with Upstream Nigeria last month for the supply of umbilicals for the same project.
